Touring the coast of Andalusia by car is one of the most interesting options when visiting Spain. For this reason, we want to propose some routes that you should not miss on your trip, so that you can soak up everything this special region has to offer.

What parts of the Andalusian coast to see by car

It goes without saying that, if you can, it is best to cross from one end to the other. But as we know that sometimes travel time is limited, we are going to offer you the most interesting options.

A route through Huelva

You can start in Ayamonte, a beautiful town near the border with Portugal. From there you can head to Isla Canela, where you can enjoy up to 8 kilometers of beach, in a spectacular natural environment, full of marshes. In addition, this area is perfect for cycling or to enjoy the purest nature Huelva has at its disposal.

Finally, Matalascañas is the perfect stop for nature lovers. It is close to the Doñana National Park and its flora and fauna are truly diverse. You will also have the prospect of many fine sandy beaches where you can enjoy a magical day.

The magical coast of Cadiz

We will continue this route through one of the most special enclaves in all Andalusia: Tarifa. However, that is not where the journey begins. For a well-organized trip, we recommend you start at the beach of El Palmar, in Conil de la Frontera.

This place has a special ambience, with beautiful sunsets and a great climate. In the busier months of the year for tourists, you will be able to enjoy a number of places with live music.

Next, Zahara de los Atunes is another magical spot in Cadiz, especially for lovers of good gastronomy. Tuna fishing is very popular here (hence the name), so you can discover an area with rich and spectacular gastronomy.

Finally, the jewel in the crown is Tarifa, which boasts a very special beach, called Playa de Bolonia, a practically virgin area where you can enjoy the history of the area and even find Roman ruins. Of course, do not hesitate to head to Tarifa to enjoy one of the liveliest spots in Andalusia.

La Costa del Sol

For years Malaga has been an international paradise for lovers of southern Spanish culture, good weather, good food and spectacular scenery. That is why, on this route, we could not miss what is undoubtedly one of the most famous coastlines in Spain: the Costa del Sol.

This trip could start at Punta Chullera. In the westernmost part of Malaga, this area is not only known for its beaches. It also has an ancient castle and a beautiful village that you can visit. It is a very good way to immerse yourself in the Costa del Sol life.

Before reaching the always fascinating Marbella, there is a detour inland that is worth taking. Ronda, a town full of history that is absolutely breathtaking, is waiting for you there. You will be delighted to discover a more rugged and violent nature in this area of Andalusia.

Now it is time to discover the main city along the Costa del Sol. Or, at least, the most diverse: Marbella. Discover a tourist enclave par excellence and fall in love with its atmosphere and its many beaches.

Finally, a good place to end this trip is Benalmádena. A place with spectacular slopes and a historic center that is more than worth a visit. In addition, there are many other towns and places of interest in the area. Therefore, it makes for a good spot to reorganize your route.

How to enjoy the Andalusian coast by car?

Very simple, you always have the option of renting a car in Malaga, Seville or Granada. We have offices in the airports of these three Andalusian cities. As a result, we make this trip simple for you. As soon as you arrive, you can rent a vehicle and go wherever you like. And, upon your return to the airport, you can hand it back.

This is the easiest and most comfortable option, as you will be able to enjoy Andalusia wherever you are arriving from.

In short, touring the coast of Andalusia by car is an absolute delight. In addition, thanks to its spectacular climate, you can do so any time of the year. We help make this dream come true!
