Tenerife, the jewel of the Atlantic, is a fascinating destination with a rich diversity of landscapes, activities and culture. For this reason, today, we want to tell you what to see in Tenerife in one week. From the capital, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, to the breathtaking landscapes of the Teide National Park and charming cities such as La Laguna and Puerto de la Cruz, the island offers a unique experience for visitors. And the best way to enjoy so much beauty is to pack your suitcase to go on vacation and enjoy.

What to see in Tenerife

Start your adventure in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, one of the best corners of the island. The Plaza de España welcomes you with its majestic fountain and the Casa del Carnaval is a superb example of modern architecture. In the same vein, don't miss the opportunity to stroll around, soaking up the energy of the city and head for the Auditorio de Tenerife, a feat of architecture that stands out against the skyline.

On your second day, immerse yourself like a local by exploring the Market of Our Lady of Africa. This market is the perfect place to sample fresh produce and experience the daily life of one of the island's inhabitants. You can also taste tropical fruits, local cheeses and fresh seafood.

For the next two days, head to La Laguna, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Don't miss the historic old town, where cobblestone streets and centuries-old buildings transport you back through time. Learn about the history of the island by visiting the Cathedral of San Cristobal de La Laguna.

What to see in Tenerife if you like stargazing

If you are taking a road trip, remember that vacation car rental is the best option. This way of traveling makes it easy to visit the Anaga National Park, a natural reserve with laurel forests and impressive trails. Take hiking trails that will take you through lush landscapes and allow you to enjoy panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean.

Along the same lines, the best idea is to continue your trip, for the following two days, in another unmissable natural space. We are, of course, talking about the Teide National Park. This natural wonder, home to Spain's highest peak, Mount Teide, offers a lunar landscape that captivates all who visit. Take the cable car up to the summit and enjoy spectacular views or explore the trails that wind around the Roques de Garcia.

Get closer to the stars

If you are passionate about astronomy, a visit to the Teide Observatory is the perfect option. This observatory, located in a unique environment, gives you the opportunity to explore the starry sky of Tenerife, with first-class scientific facilities.

For your last day, choose between two charming destinations: Costa Adeje or Puerto de la Cruz. Costa Adeje, in the south, offers golden sandy beaches, such as Playa del Duque, and attractions such as Siam Park, an internationally renowned water park. On the other hand, Puerto de la Cruz, in the north, is known for the relaxed atmosphere of the Plaza del Charco, the Botanical Gardens and the architecture of Lago Martinez.

As well as these highlights, Tenerife offers a wide range of additional experiences. Around the island, you will find beaches for all tastes. From golden sands in the south to black sand beaches in the north. Nature enthusiasts can go to the Cliffs of Los Gigantes, which are majestic rock formations rising from the sea.

Aquatic fanatics can immerse themselves in the underwater world of the Atlantic by scuba diving or snorkeling. In addition, hiking trails wind through lush forests, ravines and volcanic landscapes, offering wonderful opportunities to discover the island's unique flora and fauna.

Gastronomy of the island

Don't forget to try the delicious local gastronomy. Canarian dishes, such as mojo, papas arrugadas and gofio, are delicious. Round off your experience by tasting local wines, as Tenerife has a growing wine scene. As for nightlife, there is a full range of locations to enjoy, from quiet bars to lively nightclubs. Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Playa de las Americas are known for their nightlife.

We look forward to seeing you there
