The routes by campervan in Catalonia are the order of the day, and there are many places that you can visit while you enjoy your trip and stay in a campervan, which you can rent to make sure you always have a vehicle adapted to your needs. Take note of the following routes for your next getaway and get ready to discover amazing places. We will take Barcelona as a starting point, and visit some nearby areas that offer nature, adventure, culture, and everything you can imagine.

Conca de Barberà

From the coast of Barcelona we move inland to visit one of the most beautiful areas of Tarragona. The Conca de Barberà, or Barberà Basin. Located an hour and a half from Barcelona, it includes a total of 22 municipalities, and all of them have something special, so we recommend that you get behind the wheel of your camper and take a small tour through the area. It is a region that camping and campervan lovers like a lot, so you will have no problem finding a campsite where you can rest with maximum security and all the comforts.

Among the points of interest that you cannot miss, we can highlight the Royal Monastery of Santa Maria de Poblet, declared a World Heritage Site in 1991 and that, to this day, continues to be home to 25 monks. And the best thing is that you can visit all year round.

If you are a nature lover, do not miss the Caves of l'Espluga de Fracolí. An impressive natural environment and very easy to visit, because it has no slope at all. It is accessible even for children, but the visit is always guided to reinforce safety.

La Garrotxa

We return to Barcelona for another of our campervan routes through Catalonia. A little more than an hour from there we find La Garrotxa. This region of Girona is famous for many things, but especially for its volcanic area, and here you will find a large natural park with many extinct volcanic cones.

Lovers of history and medieval villages will consider this area to be a real paradise, because in this region you will find towns like Santa Pau and Besalú, which still have preserved remnants of their medieval past.

If you dare to get your boots on, you can leave your campervan at one of the campsites in the area and walk along Itinerànnia a network of trails that will take you from the Pyrenees to the Mediterranean Sea. It crosses the Alta Garotxa area, so you can take the opportunity to walk a little in the middle of a spectacular natural landscape.

From Barcelona to Terres de l'Ebre, one of the best campervan routes in Catalonia

This route is a bit longer and will take about two hours to complete. Although, as you are bordering the coast the whole time, you might find it takes you a little longer, because you will surely not be able to resist making a stop along the way.

Terres de l'Ebre is perfect for a campervan route, because it combines sea and mountains in an almost-perfect fusion. We recommend you bring your swimsuit, because in the Natural Park of Els Ports and up to the Ebro Delta you will find everything from small coves to long beaches of fine sand that will invite you to spend a while in the water, or simply sunbathing.

And almost before you get dry, you will be in front of the mountain range of Els Ports, home to hundreds of species of animals and plants among which you can walk or cycle a route. We advise you to spend the night in a campsite near Miravet, and the next day visit this beautiful town and climb up to its medieval castle, located on top of a hill.

The Costa Brava, a classic campervan tour in Catalonia

A road trip along the Costa Brava is an almost obligatory experience for campervan travel lovers. Start the engine and head north from Barcelona, almost until you reach the French border, because here you will find spectacular towns like Cadaqués, with its narrow and steep streets that make it unique. Or Tossa de Mar, one of the most iconic towns in the region. And also, why not, you can visit Begur, much less known and smaller than the previous ones, but it has an irresistible medieval charm.

There are hundreds of options for campervanroutes in Catalonia. You will be able to enjoy cities, villages, natural landscapes, outdoor activities, sea, mountains... You don't have to worry about the campervan, you can always count on us for your rental in Barcelona.
