If you are visiting the white island and want some souvenirs of your trip, what could be better than to visit the street markets of Ibiza? They are magical places with history and tradition where you can find an infinite number of handcrafted products. They are the most important!

Always choose handmade souvenirs

One of the biggest problems we face today is globalization. While it has many advantages, it is also eliminating the differences between countries. When traveling, we find the same products no matter where we are.

If you like to explore and discover local trade when you travel, you must have noticed that there are the same stores and chains everywhere, and because of the power they have, they kill the local market.

That's why today we are recommending that you visit the markets of Ibiza on your holiday. There you will find an infinity of articles of all kinds, mostly handmade by artisans, which gives them a unique quality and exclusivity.

You can find them all over the island and they usually open on different days so you can visit as many as possible. But since there are so many things to see in this little paradise, here are the most famous street markets in Ibiza.

Best street markets in Ibiza

Las Dalias

This is the market par excellence in Ibiza, and is worth visiting whether you plan to buy something or not. It started back in the 60's with the arrival of the hippy community to the island, a time of concerts and people coming together to enjoy the music and the atmosphere to the rhythm of the drums.

As the years went by, they looked for ways to make money, and the first handicraft stalls began to appear. On your visit, more than 200 await you, accompanied by the best atmosphere of the island. It is open on Saturdays and holidays, and from Sunday to Tuesday it is open in the evening.

Benirràs Market

Benirrás is another of the markets in Ibiza that you have to visit if you want to soak up the essence of the island. It has a lot in common with that of Las Dalias, such as the presence of hippies and drums.

This beach is also where they live and where they go to hold jam sessions every Sunday afternoon. It has become so popular that they have become a stop for tourists who come to the island on vacation.

To visit the market during the day, go on Tuesday mornings, and if you prefer to see its night side, go on Fridays and Sundays until midnight.

Es Canar, Punta Arabí

Es Canar was inaugurated in 1973 in Santa Eulàlia del Rio and has grown from five stalls aimed at tourists staying at the hotel in this spot to more than 500. They sell costume jewelry, textiles, accessories, handmade instruments, natural cosmetics and even antiques.

But in addition to the stalls that delight adult visitors, children also have their own playground. And to recharge your batteries after shopping, there are several places to eat, as well as a supermarket. To visit it, you will have to go on Wednesdays between April and October.

Street market of Sant Joan de Labritja

If you are looking for an interesting plan for Sunday mornings, Sant Joan de Labritja is another of the most attractive street markets in Ibiza. Here you can buy not only fashion and handicrafts, but also other products such as honey and cheese. And so that you don't miss anything you've seen in the previous ones, there is also music and food.

Forada Market

And since we have already mentioned food, if you want to take a better look and discover authentic wonders of local production, you should not miss the Forada market in Tixedò, which is committed to organic culture.

Breads, pastries, liqueurs such as Ibicencan herbs, soaps and a whole repertoire of products that we know will fill your luggage when you go back home. Open on Saturday mornings until 4 pm.
